Sant’Orso Fair 2024

30 January 2024

The Fiera di Sant’Orso 2024, a must-see event for the world of Aosta Valley craftsmanship, will take place on January 30 and 31 to celebrate a thousand-year-old tradition.

A thousand-year-old tradition

For over a thousand years, on January 30th and 31st, the historic center of Aosta has been literally invaded by artisans and visitors for the largest festival dedicated to Aosta Valley craftsmanship: the Fiera di Sant’Orso. This is an unmissable event with the Aosta Valley artisan tradition.
The joyful invasion of the historic center of the city of Aosta by a thousand artisans, both hobbyists and professionals, restores an authentic atmosphere of times gone by that bears the name of the saint who, legend has it, began by distributing “sabots” to the poor, typical wooden shoes that are still present in our craftsmanship today.
The fair also represents an opportunity for professional craftsmen to meet, who gather in the Atelier des Métiers to showcase the products of their endeavors for a few days.

Other Trade Fairs

Numerous trade fairs are organised throughout the year in the region: from the Foire d’Eté , the summer version of the winter fair, to the Fiera di Donnas , the “small fair” that precedes the Foire de Saint-Ours and the Fiera dell’Artigianato Aosta di Tradizione dedicated to students of the craft courses in Antey-Saint-André.
There are also numerous other small fairs in the area, including the Foire de la Pâquerette in Courmayeur, the Foire des Glaciers in Pré-Saint-Didier and many others that allow you to learn about and appreciate the rich artisan heritage of the Aosta Valley.
