OUR TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS

Manual education is a mission
Learning by doing has always been the foundation of the educational activity of our places of culture, centers of protection but also of transmission of artisan culture to the younger generations. The MAV has been carrying out an intense educational activity for years that makes experience the main vehicle of knowledge and so does SpaziØrso, a newborn educational place for the culture of craftsmanship. The two spaces offer educational and manual experiences aimed at schools, families, young people, adults and groups. For us, education in craftsmanship for the new generations passes through play, manual skills and experimentation.
A place of study and research

The MAV is not only a museum to visit, but also a place available to students, researchers and enthusiasts who want to learn more about and study the Aosta Valley artisan heritage. In addition to the exhibition space and its assets, the museum has a real research center on craftsmanship that promotes and spreads knowledge of the history of Aosta Valley craftsmanship: the Centre d’Etudes sur l’Artisanat de Tradition. The Centre has a thematic library with over 300 volumes on craftsmanship, a photographic and film collection, interviews and documents. It also promotes and disseminates studies and research in the sector of craftsmanship by encouraging scientific collaboration between researchers, universities and other research centers and annually publishes a bulletin with thematic articles and research.
