Memories of Stone
30 September 2009
The first exhibition set up at the MAV featured thirteen artisans who, through their creations, illustrated the different stone-working techniques.
Thirteen artisans to tell the different stone working techniques through their artefacts. The first exhibition set up at the MAV wanted to represent the Aosta Valley artisan world through the works of those who, for passion and profession, know how to give new life to raw material, transforming it with originality and style into a unique and unrepeatable artefact. The exhibition was the result of a “participatory installation” because the museum entered the artisans’ ateliers to capture the essence of artisanal work and in turn the artisans took part in the installation.
