1969-2009 The DRAP: the textile soul of a community

In Valgrisenche, to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the Les Tisserands cooperative, an exhibition was set up that offered visitors the chance to rediscover a technique and a craft, such as “drap” weaving.

Set up in the exhibition hall “Le Vieux Quartier” in Valgrisenche, the exhibition celebrated the fortieth anniversary of the textile cooperative, offering visitors the rediscovery of a technique and a craft, such as the weaving of “drap”, strongly linked to tradition and the territory with consolidated and vital roots that endure in the present. Born in collaboration with the textile cooperative “Les Tisserands” in Valgrisenche and with the Department of Productive Activities, the exhibition wanted to tell the story of the tradition of a technique and of a valley that recognizes itself in it.
