Espace Rural: outillage RePrésenté
31 January 2008
An exhibition, organized by IVAT and the Fondation Grand Paradis, created to illustrate the matrix of the Montagnard craftsman: authentic agricultural tools and everyday objects from the agro-pastoral world alternating with sculptural representations and bas-reliefs depicting scenes of their specific use have allowed us to combine an artistic interpretation of the artisanal product with some ideas from a broader ethnographic reflection.
The Visitor Center of the Gran Paradiso National Park in Rhêmes-Notre-Dame hosted “Espace Rural: outillage RePrésenté”, an exhibition organized by IVAT and the Fondation Grand Paradis, to illustrate the matrix of the Montagnard craftsman. Authentic agricultural tools and everyday objects from the agro-pastoral world alternated with sculptural representations and bas-reliefs depicting scenes of their specific use, allowed us to combine an artistic interpretation of the artisanal product with some ideas from a broader ethnographic reflection. A contemporary installation that gave the opportunity to show the objects of rural life from another point of view.
