Workshop for young mask-makers in the MAV’s Educational Carpentry

May 1st, 2025

On the occasion of Carnival, the MAV invites children to become mask-making craftsmen. The little ones can discover the traditional Alpine carnivals, from the landzette of Coumba Freida to the mèscres of the Ladino carnival. During the workshop, they will explore the differences and similarities between the traditions and masks of Alpine carnivals, and then create a double-faced mask, elegant on one side and clumsy on the other, in the museum’s Falegnameria Didattica.
A unique opportunity for children to experiment with creativity and craftsmanship, using tools like saws, drills, and hammers in a true child-friendly workshop, working like real craftsmen!
