Chosen Work
30 January 2017
The exhibition that every year shows the works selected at the Fiera di Sant’Orso as most representative of the Aosta Valley craftsmanship for their shape, their use, the manufacturing technique and the choice of material.
Since 2011, every year, during the Fiera di Sant’Orso, some significant artisanal works are selected, for their shape, their use, the manufacturing technique and the choice of material, from the stalls of the thousand exhibiting artisans. The authors of the identified artefacts have been invited to bring their works to the museum and to tell something about themselves; from this operation, every year an exhibition is born, aimed at connoting and valorising the expressive topicality of traditional production. With this initiative, the museum goes out into the territory, at a fundamental moment for craftsmanship such as the Fiera di Sant’Orso, to give new impetus to tradition.
