Sant’Orso – Educational Carpentry Workshop
A workshop dedicated to Sant’Orso, the legendary saint who gave his name to the largest craft fair. Together we will learn about history and legend, explore the symbols that characterize it and build the iconic character in the Educational Carpentry.

Wednesday 5, 12, 19 and 26 February from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm

From berdji to robot – Educational Carpentry Workshop
A workshop to reflect on the historical evolution of toys over time and whether it is batteries or imagination that “moves” a toy. Children will have the opportunity to experiment, design and create a wooden robot of their own choosing using nails, screws, bolts and nuts.

Alpine Carnivals – Educational Carpentry Workshop A workshop dedicated to the discovery of the Alpine carnivals, from the traditional landzette of the Coumba Freida to the mèscres of the Ladin carnival. Children will have the opportunity to explore the differences and similarities between the traditions and masks of the Alpine carnivals and then create, in the Educational Carpentry workshop of the museum – a real child-sized workshop with saws, drills, and hammers – a double-faced mask, one side elegant and refined, the other awkward and grotesque. An activity where the youngest can experiment with creativity and craftsmanship and work like true artisans.

Wednesday 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th March from 3.00pm to 5.00pm

Floral Weavings – Basketry Workshop A workshop to learn about and experiment with the ancient technique of basketry. Together, we explore the beauty of nature and learn to weave willow branches to create imaginative giant flowers, celebrating the arrival of spring. Through simple yet captivating techniques, they will develop fine motor skills, stimulating imagination and coordination. At the end of the workshop, each child will take home their floral creation, a symbol of their skill and creativity.

Wednesday 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23th and 30th April from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm

Wooden Characters: Creating Magic with Birch – Educational Carpentry Workshop
A creative workshop dedicated to working with birch wood: during the activity, participants will explore the beauty and versatility of this material, as well as learn about the main craftsmen from Aosta Valley who have used or still use this particular type of wood. In the Educational Carpentry workshop, a real child-sized workshop with saws, drills, and hammers, the youngest will get hands-on experience with creativity and craftsmanship.

The Court Jester – Woodworking Workshop for the Castle Fair
On the occasion of Castello in Fiera, the great medieval event in Fénis, the MAV organizes creative theme workshops. In the Educational Carpentry, a real workshop designed for children, the little ones can work with wood and create a small, colorful court jester.

The Easter Bunny – Educational Carpentry and Loom Weaving Workshop
themed activity to celebrate Easter in a creative way!
After a fun “Easter Egg Hunt” that Pasquale the bunny has hidden in different areas of the museum, children become craftsmen to create a colorful Easter bunny, either from wood or wool. An educational and hands-on experience that combines play and creativity!

Flying Creations – Educational Carpentry Workshop A workshop to discover the birds that fill the spring sky, along with those crafted by our local artisans. Inside the Educational Carpentry Workshop — a true child-friendly artisan space complete with workbenches, saws, drills, and hammers — children will have the chance to become little woodworkers, creating colorful birds born from their creativity and craftsmanship.

Wednesday 4rd, 11th, 18th and 25th June from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm

Wooden sounds – Educational Carpentry Workshop In June, on the occasion of the Fête de la Musique, the MAV Educational Carpentry Workshop dedicates its activities to music, where sound and craftsmanship come together. Children have the opportunity to build small wooden percussion instruments, discovering the secrets of traditional woodworking and experiencing firsthand how sound is born. Using natural materials and simple yet authentic techniques, each participant becomes a music artisan, creating unique objects that blend play, learning, and creativity. An engaging experience to celebrate music with your own hands!

Activities for children aged 3 to 12 (only 1 accompanying adult allowed for each child)

Each activity costs €8 per child with the option of a subscription (€40 for 5 entries + 1 free)
