The MAIN has reopened to the public for a summer season full of events

June: a summer of events kicks off in L'Artisanà locations

On Saturday 1st June, the MAIN – Maison de l’Artisanat International and its exhibition “Bâton Amis” reopened to the public for a summer season full of events and new features.
For this last summer of opening, the exhibition has been enriched with new interesting patrimonies from prestigious private collectors that will be added to the over 400 objects currently exhibited in the rooms of the Casaforte Caravex.
The inauguration of an “exhibition within an exhibition” is scheduled for Friday 7 June at 5:30 p.m .: alongside the sticks from the large collections, the works of the students from the Aosta Art School will be on display. They have dedicated themselves to a project to rework the stick, creating “magic wands” that will be visible at the Gignod exhibition venue throughout the summer. The students from the Music School will enliven the inaugural event, performing in concert for the audience.

Workshops for families at MAV

Every Wednesday afternoon in June, the MAV – Museum of Traditional Aosta Valley Crafts workshops continue, inspired by the exhibition “Family stories and handed down knowledge: the Vuillermoz” which can currently be visited.
Inspired by the works of Vittorio, Luciano, Giulio and Franco, the children, in the MAV Educational Carpentry Workshop, will take on the role of “artisans” for a day to create small wooden masterpieces.
The workshops are aimed at children aged 3 to 12 and the cost is €7 per child with the option of a subscription (€35 for 5 entries + 1 free). Reservations are required at the MAV (0165-764276) or at all regional tourism offices.
