In October, the MAV becomes a place of meeting and reflection, but also a stage for music and theatre with a series of major cultural events.
Here is the program:
- Saturday 8 October at 5 pm the musical show “Gernika” will be performed with the actress Alay Arcelus Macazaga and the musician from the Aosta Valley Selene Framarin, directed by Matteo Destro. A show between music and masked theatre that tells the horror of war and the grandeur of art capable of creating beauty even in recounting tragic events.
- Saturday 15 October at 5 pm there is a conference dedicated to the relationship between “matter and territory” with Corrado Letey, forestry expert, and Mauro Cortellazzo, archaeologist and geologist. An opportunity to talk about matter, the starting point of artisanal processing, and the delicate bond with the territory.
- Saturday 22 October at 5 pm in the meeting, “Very Human Things” , we will discuss the human aspects of artisanal production, the conservation of local heritage and the ethical and aesthetic implications of doing. Guests Valentina Porcellana, University of Valle d’Aosta, and Viviana Luz Toro Matuk, Uniludes University of Lugano and University of Valle d’Aosta.
- Saturday 29 October at 5pm L’Orage Trio offers the public a travelling musical show inside the museum with a varied programme ranging from L’Orage’s original songs to a surprising selection of revivals and revisitations of the repertoire of great singer-songwriters of the past and of traditional music.

FAMU – National Day of Families at the Museum
Sunday 9 October sees the return of FAMU, the National Day of Families at the Museum!
For the occasion, the MAV proposes “A caccia di giochi”, a treasure hunt in the museum spaces where children can test their observation skills and, like real detectives, find traditional toys. At the end of the journey, the little participants become artisans themselves and experiment with the construction of a small game to take home as a souvenir of the experience.
The activity is aimed at families with children aged 3 to 12 and is free. Reservations are not required.
Workshops for families
The Wednesday afternoon events dedicated to families continue in October.
The dates are October 5th and 19th with “Animals of the Woods” and October 12th and 26th with “Animals of the Farm”.
The activities cost €8 per child with the possibility of a subscription. Reservations are required at 0165 1835120, at the regional tourism offices or on the VdAEvents App.
Educational offer for schools
The MAV educational offer for schools for the 2022-2023 school year is online with many new workshops to learn about the renewed MAV layout and a new vision of craftsmanship.
The manual skill and experimentation that distinguish our educational proposals do not change.
