On Saturday 13 April at 5 pm the MAV – Museum of Traditional Aosta Valley Crafts inaugurates the exhibition “Family stories and handed down knowledge: the Vuillermoz” dedicated to the production of a large family of artisans from our region.
The exhibition is part of a project aimed at enhancing the concept of family in the artisan field through the setting up of exhibitions that tell the story of some personalities who have made the “history of Aosta Valley craftsmanship”. Artisan practice, knowledge of techniques and materials are often a “family tradition” since the latter is the primary place of learning and work.
The first exhibition dedicated to “the Vuillermoz” features important works produced from the 1930s to today, passed down from generation to generation: Vittorio, Giulio, Luciano and Franco Vuillermoz. Four artisans who have made craftsmanship a family tradition.
During the exhibition opening period, the museum will offer numerous activities for adults and children: meetings, guided tours and themed educational workshops.
Waiting for Easter – Educational Woodworking Workshop
Like every year, on the occasion of Easter, the MAV – Museo dell’Artigianato Valdostano di Tradizionale proposes a series of educational-creative events in which children have the opportunity to experiment with their manual skills and build an object themselves in the Educational Carpentry like “real craftsmen”. Children will be able to create an original chick in its nest using wood, wool and other natural materials.
The workshops will take place on Wednesday 17th and Saturday 20th April from 3pm to 5pm.
The activities cost €7 per participant with the option of a subscription (€35 for 5 entries + 1 free), are aimed at children aged 3 to 12 and booking is mandatory by calling 0165/763912 or at all regional tourism offices.
