L’Artisanà’s summer is back. Every day, from Tuesday to Sunday, a different event: from our workshops to concerts to the theater.
Tuesday : The stick is the protagonist of the new exhibition of the MAIN – Maison de l’Artisanat International in Gignod and also of its thematic workshops that will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm for children aged 6 to 14! You will be able to engrave, decorate and personalize your stick with different tools to make it unique to live any adventure with!
Wednesday : the educational workshops of the MAV – Museo d’Artigianato Valdostano di Tradizione in Fénis are the masters! In the morning, from 10:30 to 12:30, there will be the opportunity to create wooden toys from the most complex ones, such as tatà, to the simplest ones such as cornailles. In the afternoon, from 15:00 to 17:00, the 2018 educational project will continue, which focuses on the concept of measuring TIME from different points of view. During this month, children and their families will learn to read the life of trees and make wool trees using special self-built looms. Both workshops are for children aged 3 to 12.
Thursday : more fun in the MAV educational carpentry . In fact, after listening to some sayings and proverbs of the Val d’Aosta popular tradition, linked to the passage of time and reflecting on their meaning, the young craftsmen will create the subjects and objects mentioned in them with the possibility of participating in the morning, from 10:30 to 12:30 or in the afternoon from 15:00 to 17:00.
Friday : it’s the right day to be able to say: “Today I am the craftsman!”. At the MAV with workbenches, saws, drills and hammers, the young participants will be able to “play with craftsmanship” from 10:30 to 12:30 and from 15:00 to 17:00, to develop their manual skills and build a wooden object by themselves, freely inspired by the artefacts in the museum collection.
Saturday: the weekend is a prerogative of MAIN. In fact, concerts and theatrical pieces will be offered on alternate Saturdays with free admission from 5:30 pm! On August 4 and 18, the musical review will be held: “ Bastoni sonori ” , curated by Selene Framarin with the theme: “The voice of Jazz” on the first date and “ Wood, hair and strings ” on the second. On August 11 and 25, the theater will be the protagonist thanks to the readings and thoughts of Andrea Damarco accompanied by the strings of Christian Curcio who, on the first date together with the reflections of Andrea Désandré, will talk about the stick and “ Of eros”, while on the second, with Laura Costa “ Of madness ”
Sunday: this day will be dedicated to discovering the fascinating world of sticks with our free guided tour at the MAIN, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Used as a support, travel companions, but also tools of defense and power, you will be able to admire the characteristics and peculiarities, the differences and similarities of a simple object used throughout the world.
It doesn’t end here, in fact, our artisans will hold several workshops for adults with the following dates:
- August 7th in Aosta at the Jardin Alpin, Le Cuir d’Andrès will hold a workshop for the creation of a Bookmark
- August 8th at the Boutique de L’Artisanà in Cogne Derby, Wood and Ceramics Tell Their Story
- August 10th in Aosta at the Jardin Alpin, Les Tisserands Cooperativa will propose the Human Loom
- August 15th at the Boutique de L’Artisanà in Ayas, Sergio Ferrol will hold a demonstration at the Lathe
- August 16th at the Aosta Boutique, a Storytelling entitled Tale and Dialogue held by Derby Legno and Ceramica Cooperativa
- August 22nd at the Aosta Boutique, Simone Allione will hold a Sculpture Demonstration
- August 23rd at the Courmayeur Boutique, a workshop on Loom Weaving will be held by Les Tisserands Cooperativa
- August 25th at the Cogne Boutique, a workshop on the creation of an Owl held by Le Cuir d’Andrès.
