The project, born on the initiative of Skyway Monte Bianco in collaboration with the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta and L’Artisanà, compared the world of craftsmanship with that of design. Inserting itself in the wake of the dialogue with the latter, already started in 2023, the initiative brought some Aosta Valley artisans selected by L’Artisanà to confront an internationally renowned designer, Matteo Ragni, winner of two Compasso d’Oro, the oldest and most prestigious industrial design award in the world.
The project was presented at the Atelier des Métiers at Saint Ours in January 2024, while the prototypes were unveiled during Milan Design Week, which took place from 15 to 21 April.
August finally represents the long-awaited culmination of the project: the sale to the public of the new friendship cups at the L’Artisanà stores in Aosta, Ayas, Cogne and Courmayeur and at Skyway Monte Bianco!
Amitié comes in two versions: one with a minimal and elegant design, created by the craftsman Giorgio Denarier of Avise, and one with a turned cap with a graceful knob, created by Joel Fusinaz of Le Tournage of Villeneuve. Corrado Brunet of Les Amis du Bois of Introd and Thierry Scandella of Villeneuve also participated in the design phase of these objects.
Amitié was created to be shared and the cups have therefore been finished in a four-hole version, dedicated to four people, and a six-hole version, for six people: come and discover them in our stores!
