Summer learning activities for families are going great!
Every Wednesday and Friday, morning and afternoon, the museum welcomes families into its educational spaces and offers educational activities where children can experience craftsmanship . In the museum’s Educational Joinery, a unique creative-educational space, children can experiment with the use of real woodworking tools or learn to weave wool like “real” craftsmen.
Also scheduled for Saturday 24 August is the third appointment with the Atelier Forêt: from the forest to the sawmill . Children and their families are invited to a workshop in the woods to rediscover contact with raw materials, learn about trees through a series of games and visit an ancient water-powered sawmill in the company of a craftsman.
The complete program of summer activities can be consulted online at www.lartisana.vda.it/calendario. We remind you that educational workshops require mandatory reservation at www.lartisana.vda.it/biglietti.

At 15:00 the museum becomes the stage for the show “Sussurri”, a show of songs, stories and legends in the Aosta Valley that makes us reflect on life in the mountains of yesterday and today.
- On Saturday 10th August the MAV hosts a workshop on how to build a pandero, a traditional Iberian drum, at 9:30 and at 16:00 a concert by the same group Lo Pander. At 11:00 on the same day the green area also hosts the final concert of the group music and folk singing courses.
The exhibition “Beyond the 6 Strings” by Valerio Gorla can already be visited in the museum spaces, featuring traditional plectrum instruments from different musical cultures.
A program of music, culture and tradition not to be missed!
Exhibition “Mountain Spirit, Aosta Valley sculptors tell”
At the MAV you can visit the exhibition “Spirito Montano, scultori valdostani raccontano”. The exhibition narrates the mountain through emotions and images that find expression in wood and stone thanks to the fine manual skills of professional sculptors from the Aosta Valley.
The peculiarity of this exhibition is that it is a gallery-exhibition in which the works on display, which are all unique pieces, can be purchased by visitors.
The exhibition can be visited until November 3, from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00. Entrance is included in the entrance ticket to the MAV.
Theatrical show “The Conquest of the Matterhorn”
Saturday 31 August at 9 pm at the MAV “La Conquista del Cervino” will take place. The ascent of the Matterhorn is one of the greatest challenges that the history of mountaineering remembers and the beginning of a new way of experiencing the mountains that has changed the territory itself. The show stages the challenge between Jean Antoine Carrel and Edward Whimper for the conquest of the most iconic peak in the Aosta Valley. A conquest that changes the history of world mountaineering and the history of our region forever.
The show is a hymn to the beauty of the Aosta Valley mountains, a story of the changes in the mountain over the last century and a tribute to the mountaineers and guides who love it and live it every day.
Show by Teatro d’Aosta, directed by Livio Viano, with Roberto Anglisani on stage.
