The month of November starts off in style with a special opening for the All Saints weekend : from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th November the MAV-Museum of Traditional Aosta Valley Crafts can be visited from 10am to 6pm continuously.
This weekend Fénis and its medieval castle are the protagonists of the event “Castello in Fiera”, a kermesse dedicated to the Middle Ages with a rich offer of entertainment at the foot of the manor, and for the occasion the museum offers a series of workshops for the little ones on the theme of “princesses and knights in wood” . In the MAV Educational Carpentry, with workbenches, saws, drills and hammers, children can become “artisans for a day” and build the characters who inhabited the medieval castle.
The activities are scheduled for Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 November with the following times: 10.00 – 10.45; 11.00 – 11.45; 12.00 – 12.45; 14.30 -15.15; 15.30 -16.15; 16.30 – 17.15.
The workshops are aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 12; children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. The activities are free upon purchase of a reduced-price museum ticket (free for children under 6, €3 for children 6 and up). Reservations are required on site on the day of the activity.
After this first weekend of fire, the museum’s educational activities continue as usual every Wednesday afternoon of the month:
- On November 7, 14 and 21 from 3pm to 5pm the workshops have the theme “The ticking of time” where children can make an original wooden clock;
- On November 28th, from 3 to 5 pm, children can say “Today I am the craftsman!” and create a personal wooden game “playing with craftsmanship”.
The “Wednesday workshops” are always aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 12, and children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is €7 per child with the option of a €35 subscription (5 entries + 1 free) and booking is mandatory at 0165-763912.
