Exhibition “Artisan Hands: the Chair”

Starting today, Wednesday 12 January, the Saletta d’Arte of the municipality of Aosta hosts “Mani artigiane: la sedia”, an exhibition that aims to tell the story of today’s craftsmanship and in particular the work of furniture makers. Through the chair, a symbolic object of home furnishings since ancient times, the exhibition tells the story of the Aosta Valley artisan panorama from the past to the present, the construction techniques and the design of an object that resists the passage of time.
There are 22 works on display and they represent the varied production of the Aosta Valley furniture makers: from ancient artifacts to contemporary works, from traditional decorations to design. The artisans Franco Armand, Patrizio Berthet, Diego Bollon, Christian Caccamo, Salvatore Cazzato, Christian Chamonin, Flavio Chapellu, Mauro Danne, Giulio Michele Del Fino, Benonino Gerbore, Jonatha Gerbore, Christian Hugonin, Aurelio Junod, Ezio Lombard, Gianluca Mastella, Luciano Tousco, Claudio Trento and Peter Trojer are participating in the exhibition. Alongside the contemporary works, some antique and valuable chairs from private collectors are also on display.
The exhibition is open to the public from January 12 to February 10, 2022 from Tuesday to Sunday from 1 to 7 pm with free admission.
