“Espace L’artisanà” Place Plouves

Foire de Saint-Ours: two days dedicated to Aosta Valley craftsmanship

Like every year, inside the pavilion set up in Piazza Plouves, IVAT will set up the Espace L’Artisanà: a place that aims to represent a point of reference for the Aosta Valley craftsmanship present in Foire and to enhance for the general public of enthusiasts the artisanal wealth represented by IVAT in all its forms and missions. It will be an opportunity to learn about the news and strategies that the Institution pursues in order to best enhance the important work of the artisans.

VEILLÀ OF PETCHOU

This year too, the MAV Itinérant Workshop will be present at Veillà di Petchou with craft workshops for children: on Wednesday 30 January from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, children will be able to get closer to craftsmanship and its objects and build a small wooden sheep. Thanks to saws, rasps and files, participants will be able to work like “grown-ups”, developing creativity and manual skills and rediscovering gestures and techniques from the past. The activities are free and aimed at children aged between 3 and 12. Reservations are required and must be made directly on site on the same day.

EXTRAORDINARY OPENINGS

During the Foire period, the Boutiques and the MAV (from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 17:00) will be open to the public to offer tourists, professionals, artisans and visitors the opportunity to discover the places of L’Artisanà. For the occasion, entry to the artisan museum will be free and visitors will be able to admire, in addition to the permanent collection, the exhibition of nativity scenes from the Priuli Collection.

PRIZES AND JURIES OF THE FAIR

IVAT will also be present in the figures of its Director, Nurye Donatoni, and the Head of the Administrative Area, Roberto Vallet, respectively in the jury of the Carlo Jans prize and in the technical commission and, jointly, in the jury of the Amédée Berthod prize, for the most promising exhibitor who has not yet turned 25.
