AT MAV THE EXHIBITION “THE NATIVITY SCENE: FIGURES AND SYMBOLS OF A TRADITION”
From December 8th to January 8th, the MAV will be hosting “The Nativity Scene: Figures and Symbols of a Tradition,” an exhibition dedicated to nativity scenes and the figures that compose them. This exhibition was born from a reflection on the figures of the nativity scene, described not so much as collectible objects, but in their deepest meaning. Without the pretense of investigating theological, anthropological and spiritual themes, its protagonists have been separated to be analyzed from a material and manual point of view, inviting the visitor to admire the importance and preciousness of the individual sculptures, contrasted with the simplicity of the elements of the choral context.
On display is a great variety of figures and symbols, but also of artisanal workmanship, nativity scenes and an invitation to the visitor to broaden their gaze to the riches of the territory, often preserved in churches, chapels and sanctuaries of the region.
The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 18.00 and admission is included in the MAV ticket.
