Fairs

The Fair of Saint-Ours

The Sant’Orso Fair is the largest craft fair in the Alps, taking place on January 30th and 31st in Aosta for over a thousand years.
The joyful invasion of the city’s historic center by over a thousand artisans, both hobbyists and professionals, restores an authentic atmosphere of times gone by. On the stalls you can find sculptures, home furnishings, kitchen utensils, fabrics, children’s toys, turned and carved objects in wood, soapstone, wrought iron and natural fibers.
The origin of the name comes from the Saint who, according to legend, distributed “sabot” to the poor, typical wooden shoes still present today in local artisan production.

Other trade fairs

Numerous trade fairs are organised throughout the year in the region: from the Foire d’Eté , the summer version of the winter fair, to the Fiera di Donnas , the “small fair” which precedes the Foire de Saint-Ours and the Fair dedicated to students of the craft courses in Antey-Saint-André.
