Louis Meynet, Artisan de Montagne
15 October 2019
In Antey-Saint-André, on the occasion of the fair of the students of the artisan schools, an exhibition dedicated to Luigi Meynet, a great protagonist of the Aosta Valley craftsmanship.
The exhibition, organized as part of the 25th edition of the Antey Fair dedicated to students of craft schools, in collaboration with the Municipality of Antey and the Regional Department of Finance, Productive Activities and Crafts, aimed to highlight one of the greatest sculptors of our region who left us a large number of works as evidence of a life dedicated to craftsmanship. His production ranged from sacred art to subjects of pastoral and agricultural life, to animals made in the round or in bas-relief.
The idea of dedicating an exhibition to the sculptor Luigi Meynet has aroused great interest from the community which, seven years after his death, welcomed with satisfaction an exhibition dedicated to him in his home town as a tribute to a life devoted to craftsmanship.
