We are very excited to announce that we will be participating in two events during Milan Design Week , which will be held from 15 to 21 April, to present the Amitié project.
Amitié is the result of the fertile collaboration between several talented professional artisans from the Aosta Valley and the internationally renowned designer Matteo Ragni and saw us involved together with Skyway Monte Bianco and our reference Department in the Structure of Territory Attractiveness, Internationalization and Traditional Craftsmanship.
The project focused on a reworking of the friendship cup, starting from the reflection on the importance of sharing and the gestures of giving and offering, and led to the creation of two different types of product: a series of limited edition cups and some sculpted designer cups.
It was a four-handed work that brought together craftsmanship and design, creative ability and artisanal intelligence. In particular, the designer Matteo Ragni indicated the shapes and dimensions of the revisited cup, while the artisans took care of customizing the lid.
The objects created and the prototype from which it all began will be exhibited in two different locations, where it will be possible to observe them and read the genesis of the project.
Design Variations 2024 is an event hosted in an industrial space in Viale Gorizia 14, where several design projects will be exhibited. The stand reserved for Amitié will consist of a load-bearing structure, made specifically for the event, with some traditional Aosta Valley friendship cups, some prototypes and the sculpted designer cups.
In the name of Dialogue instead is an exhibition organized at Stecca 3.0 near Piazza Gae Aulenti, a space managed by a network of cultural and social associations. It is an installation that displays works by designers Matteo Ragni and Giulio Iacchetti and consists of the presentation of various design exercises all united by the theme of dialogue.
Presenting Amitié ‘s results during the Milan Design Week allows us not only to offer an excellent showcase for Aosta Valley craftsmanship but also to celebrate a special union between craftsmanship and design!
