Traditions of the future
L’Artisanà is committed every day to the valorization of the artisan tradition, spreading the knowledge to preserve its memory and contributing to the safeguard of manual skills in the territory. The Aosta Valley handicraft object is full of knowledge, it tells the identity of a community, the nature from which it comes and the skilled hands that create it.
Giving a future to tradition, while at the same time managing to renew it, means for us keeping alive the roots that bind us to our land and making people understand the passion and gestures of a thousand-year-old art.

Since 1945, thanks to its activities, L’Artisanà has contributed to the conservation and valorization of a millenary heritage, to the transmission of knowledge to new generations, to the protection of the authenticity of artisanal production and to the support of artisanal businesses in the area.
The Culture area and the Enterprise development area are the two complementary souls of the institution: one safeguards the artisan tradition and the other offers it a future.
It passes on material and immaterial culture, enhances the millenary artisan tradition of the Aosta Valley and invites us to reflect on the value of tradition today through the exhibition activity of the MAV and on the territory, the events and the educational activity.
It supports the work of today’s businesses through various activities: the sale of handcrafted objects in four shops and various corners in the Aosta Valley, the management of product shipments throughout Italy, a consultancy service for artisans and the organization of days to promote the sector.
