The Artisanà
L'Artisanà is the communication brand of IVAT, Institut Valdôtain de l'Artisanat de Tradition.
The term L’Artisanà derives from the name with which the artisans of the Aosta Valley historically indicated the shop in the centre of Aosta where, after the Sant’Orso Fair and during the rest of the year, their production was delivered for sale. From the strength of this identity was born the brand L’Artisanà, which claims “the future of traditions” and is committed every day to the valorization of the Aosta Valley craftsmanship, the fruit of a centuries-old savoir-faire bearer of material and immaterial knowledge, preserving the vivacity and uniqueness that characterize it.
L’Artisanà is made up of two distinct areas: the cultural area, which includes the MAV and MAIN museums, and the artisan business development area, which manages four shops, several corners, online sales and a business consultancy service.
The Aosta Valley handicraft object is not only a common object, but it is also the history inherent in it, the nature from which it comes and the expert hands that created it. L’Artisanà was born to convey and valorize all these components: to give importance and continuity to tradition, while managing to renew it; to maintain the roots that bind us to our land, certifying the use of natural materials and to make people understand the work, love and skills of the main actors, the artisans.
